Education That Leads to True Wisdom

Rooted in 2,000 years of Christian tradition,
through which truth, goodness, and beauty flourish.

Welcome to Sophia Academy!

Sophia Academy exists to lead students into true wisdom, training students with robust academics and virtue formation. Our philosophy of education is inspired by the classical approach and rooted in the Orthodox Christian Tradition. The classical approach trains students to think critically, write persuasively, speak eloquently, and immerses the student in a school culture that fosters joy in learning and love for God.

Sophia Academy will launch with TK-9th grade in September 2024. Each year we will add an additional grade level in order to provide a full TK-12th grade school by September 2027.

We believe in partnering with parents in order to cultivate the mind, heart, and body towards the wisdom that is perfectly embodied in Jesus Christ. We look forward to partnering with you for your child’s education!

Our Mission

Sophia Academy exists to lead students into true wisdom, training students with robust academics and virtue formation. We believe that the best of the classical approach to education is organically found within ancient Christian beliefs and praxis.

Our Vision

Our ultimate aim is that our students will, through God’s grace, grow into true wisdom, become virtuous students who love to learn, and find true joy in studying the wonders of God’s creation.

Our Name

A name establishes the essence of an identity. Our identity is shaped by sophia, which is Greek for wisdom. This word described the aim of the ancient philosophers, was the heart of the Hebrew vision of intelligence, and for ancient Christianity, was proclaimed to be perfectly embodied in the person of Jesus Christ. For us, sophia is the purpose of education.

“We are philosophers not in words but in deeds; we exhibit our wisdom not by our dress, but by truth; we know virtues by their practice, rather than through boasting of them; we do not speak great things, but we live them.”

— Saint Cyprian, 256 AD
